About Me

Bonjour! I'm Sophie Coleman, the creator of French My Life, and I'm here to add a little Parisian attitude to your kitchen.

If you love France, French food, French culture, and that effortlessly chic way of living… you're in the right place. I'm about to French your life.

Yes, French is a verb now.

I was born and raised in Lyon, France, and then I did something very French of me… I fell in love. With an American. We got married, blended cultures, crossed oceans, and somehow ended up collecting children along the way.

Five of them.
Yes. Five.
Some people collect stamps. We went with children.

Life in our house is loud, busy, chaotic, and rarely perfectly plated. But in the middle of the beautiful mess, there is always good food. Real food. The kind made with butter (non-negotiable), simple ingredients, and that unmistakable je ne sais quoi.

Food is how I navigate the chaos. It's how I slow things down. Because that's the French secret: you can have noise, ambition, five opinionated kids, and still insist on a proper meal.

I believe in cooking with confidence. In using real butter. In turning an ordinary Tuesday into something a little fabulous.

I also love to travel, though with five kids it feels less like a vacation and more like a well-organized expedition. Whether we're in Paris, Provence, or somewhere between soccer practice and homework, I believe in living fully. Eating slowly.

Here on French My Life, I'm sharing the food I grew up with - the kind that doesn't need explaining, just good bread - and showing you how to add that unmistakable French confidence to your table.

No fuss. No guilt. No tiny portions.

Just bold flavors, simple techniques, and a reminder that life, even the chaotic kind, is meant to be savored.

Because a beautiful life is built one ordinary dinner at a time.
So tie on your apron.
We're about to French your life. 🇫🇷✨
